Who we are
Focus Care was established in 2003 and is headquartered in Zaandam. Our mission is simple: making, high-quality generic medicines and medical devices accessible and affordable for all. We believe that partnership and collaboration are key to contributing to the long-term health of the nation.
Our company culture rests on two pillars: a love of our roots and an unshakeable commitment to transparency and ethics. We are flexible, keep lines of communication short and maintain a flat hierarchy, allowing us to quickly respond to the evolving needs of our patients and the market.
Regulatory Affairs
All medicines in the Netherlands must be granted a marketing authorisation by the Dutch Medicines Evaluation Board (CBG-MEB) before going to market. Our Regulatory Affairs department coordinates the lengthy process of applying for marketing authorisations.
Purchase & Supply
Instead of manufacturing our medicines in-house, we leverage our international network of trusted manufacturers in the Netherlands, the EU and further afield. Our Purchase & Supply department coordinates the procurement, manufacture and supply of our products.
Quality Assurance
Our Quality Assurance department is in charge of the Quality Management System (QMS) and keeps our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) up to date. It also assists with supplier selection, verifies that all necessary permits are in place and drafts quality agreements.
Business Development
Our Business Development team investigates the needs and demands for generic medicines and medical devices among patients in the Netherlands. The team also maintains contact with manufacturers, most of whom are family-owned and share our values.
Finance & Facility
Our Finance & Facility department is in charge of all financial matters at Focus Care, including invoice entry and drafting the annual accounts and monthly reports. Our facility team makes sure our premises and workstations are well maintained and our IT infrastructure runs well.
Human Resources
The HR team promotes a healthy, productive and positive work environment that supports people’s well-being and development. The team organises social events and is in charge of all the usual HR responsibilities, such as recruitment and maintaining employee records.
Pharmaceutical Affairs
Nothing is more important to us than the safety and efficacy of our medicines and medical devices. The Pharmacovigilance team monitors signals from patients concerning side effects and reports these to the European Medicines Agency.
Commercial Generics
Always monitoring market developments, the Commercial Generics team is committed to delivering on our core mission: maximising the availability of our medicines. Besides processing orders, Commercial Generics is the first port of call for patient and customer enquiries.
Marketing & Sales
Our marketing team works to raise brand awareness and keep our key target audiences up to date on our products. Our messaging is primarily directed at health professionals rather than patients. Building and maintaining relationships is an important task for our sales colleagues.
